Congratulations on the move into your new neighborhood.  Hopefully you hired our amazing crew and the packing and moving process was a breeze.  Now that you are settled into your beautiful new home….now what!?  Here are a few pointers to get you & your family involved in your community and settled into your new neighborhood.

1. Spend time outside! The best way to meet your neighbors is to be outside and start a conversation.  Nothing gets your neighbors more excited than hearing about the improvements you plan to do to the lawn or the house.  Don’t forget to ask them over for a BBQ and have them extend the invitation to other new neighbors you could meet.

2. Get the Nextdoor app! The Nextdoor app is designed to get you in touch with your neighbors and start a dialogue. It’s social media for “your hood!”  It’s a great forum to learn about your neighbors, post questions and get to know one another. Also, this social platform is free! Next Door

3. Common Interests! Is anyone in the neighborhood a runner like you? Perhaps there is already an established run club and if not, introducing yourself via a common interest is a great way to get to know your neighbors and your community. If something doesn’t exist, start it!

4. Volunteer! There is without a doubt a local charity, church or group that needs your help. Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community and meet new people with similar interests. Volunteer Match is an awesome website to help you find places to volunteer in your community.
